Big Bird is continuing to enjoy his job with the Navy in Philadelphia, he has been involved with a Friday morning men's Bible study at our church, and has honed his skills as an amateur architect, electrician, and carpenter while we added a 3 season room on the back of our house this fall.
Baby Bird is enthralled by construction vehicles (and can uniquely identify at least 10 different ones!), trains (especially the ones in his Thomas books), he loves his friends from the park, church, and bsf and routinely prays for them and names his toys after them, and can't wait in the afternoon for "dada" to get home so they can read books together or go for a walk with his bicycle. We are working with him to teach sharing, gentleness with others, and preparing him for being a big brother...he knows his sister's name and talks about her a lot, but we all know he's got a big shock coming!
I have enjoyed being back in BSF leadership after a year off; we are studying the book of Acts and I've been challenged so much by the examples of the leaders and missionaries in the early church! Somehow between bsf 2 days a week, playdates, and keeping some sense of order in our home my weeks fly by. I've enjoyed trying out all the functionalities of our newly redone kitchen in the last 6 months, especially our convection oven which bakes beautifully!
