"free" furniture

Last week we were helping my brother with a home improvement project and Big Bird saw a piece of furniture on the side of the road for our dining room. It's not my taste per se, but the price was right so we loaded up Uncle M's trailer and it was in our garage that night.
This weekend we tracked down the supplies to redo these 2 pieces (buffet and breakfront top piece): heavy duty primer from Benjamin Moore that goes on over formica and other finishes, paint in 2 colors, and new hardware. At this point the "free" piece of furniture it at about the $120 mark. The project is 50% done and I'm just now taking pics so you will just have to use your imagination with the before on the buffet.



The original finish...next to this is the jogger we picked up at a garage sale for $5 since Big Bird's new Dr. says he should take up jogging with Baby Bird...

  A few other things for us this week: Baby Bird turned 15 months old...he's a busy little guy and keeps us on our toes...today he's sporting skinned knees and a big bump on his head. A year ago I was starting my 3 day house hunt in Delaware...my how a year flies by! And tomorrow is our 5th wedding anniversary!
